BCFS was hired by app-based rideshare and delivery companies in 2019 to analyze the feasibility of a statewide ballot measure, help with the design of a measure, and develop and oversee a winning campaign strategy to ensure app-based drivers could continue to be classified as independent contractors.
CalTravel hired BCFS for strategic communication and public advocacy support to get guidance and clarity from the Newsom Administration on reopening California’s large event and convention sector.
CGA hired BCFS to develop and implement a short-term crisis control and public information campaign to reassure consumers and key political audiences that the supply chain was healthy, there was no need to over buy, and that stores just needed time to catch up with increased demand and restock their shelves in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
BCFS was hired in 2018 to manage the campaign in opposition to Prop 6 – which would have repealed recently passed gas taxes and vehicle fees dedicated to transportation improvements.
BCFS was hired to help pass a comprehensive transportation funding package, which required a difficult 2/3 vote of the legislature. BCFS helped form and manage the Fix Our Roads coalition, and orchestrated a major push in support of Senate Bill 1 (Beall), which will generate more than $5 billion in new revenues annually for transportation. SB 1 and ACA 5 passed both the Senate and Assembly on April 6, authorizing the largest investment in transportation infrastructure in California history.
Californians for Water Security (CWS) is a growing coalition of residents, business leaders, labor, family farmers, local governments, water experts, public safety experts, taxpayer groups, environmentalists and others that have joined to mount a comprehensive, multi-year campaign in support of the plan to repair California’s aging water distribution system, through implementation of the California Water Fix.
BCFS built and managed the CEQA Working Group coalition, which was created to promote reforms to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
BCFS was hired to launch an aggressive campaign in opposition to AB 350 – a far-reaching bill that would have taken away a basic employer right of choosing who to hire. BCFS built and worked with a coalition during the summer legislative recess to organize and to reframe the issue as an outrageous power grab and a vast over-reach by legislators. It was defeated on the Senate floor just a few weeks later.
