Kathy Fairbanks
Partner
With more than 20 years of experience in Sacramento, Kathy Fairbanks is a veteran public affairs strategist specializing in developing communications and media relations plans for clients that include fortune 100 companies, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, and political coalitions. This includes overall strategic plan development, message development, media relations, crisis communications, spokesperson media and message training, and overseeing the day-to-day implementation of these campaigns.
Kathy has headed up communications plans for too-many-to-count legislative campaigns and statewide ballot measure campaigns on issues as diverse as education, health care, agriculture, transportation, land use, state and local finance, housing, environment, and many more. Though Kathy sometimes functions as a spokeswoman on behalf of her clients, she is more likely providing behind the scenes guidance to clients and their allies.
Prior to BCFS, Kathy was the Vice President for Media Relations at the California Chamber of Commerce. She also worked at Burson-Marsteller and at Stoorza, Ziegaus, Metzger & Hunt, both Sacramento political public affairs firms.
Kathy graduated from UCLA with a double major in Economics and English. As a way to unwind, she enjoys trail running, hiking, snowshoeing and other outdoor activities. Kathy serves on the Yosemite Conservancy Council, a nonprofit dedicated to raising money for projects to protect and preserve Yosemite National Park for future generations.
